Aogiri High School, Old VTuber “Moemi” from the Dawn of VTuber Joined, etc

VTuber Group Aogiri High School (operated by viviON, inc.) Announced in a Video Released on March 26, 2024 (PST) the Official Joining of “Etra,” who had Previously Joined for a Limited Time, and the Addition of New Old VTuber “Moemi”.

Moemi is a member of ICT which Etra was a member of before she joined the group, and she debuted as a “2D YouTuber” on March 3, 2017 (JST), when the term “VTuber” did not exist. She has been active for more than 7 years and is one of the oldest talents from the early days of VTuber, and has now decided to join Aogiri High School.

In addition to the addition of Etra and Moemi, the group has also announced plans to establish a new ICT and in-house studio to promote video production.

In Japan, there is a movement among some of the older talents who were prominent in the past when there were far fewer VTuber talents than there are now, to become affiliated with major agencies, groups, and companies (e.g., HIMEHINA). While some early talents (e.g., Kizuna AI) did not survive until today, it is noteworthy that some of the older talents are still going strong. It will be interesting to see how they will fare in their new home.
