U.S. Anime Convention WeebCon Breaks Ties with NIJISANJI, Suspected Pressure on Some VTubers

It has Come to Our Attention that U.S. Anime Convention “WeebCon,” Scheduled for May 29~31 (local time), may be Planning to Sever its Relationship with VTuber Group NIJISANJI / NIJISANJI EN (New), Operated by ANYCOLOR Inc.

This was revealed in an exchange (excerpts) between VTuber FalseEyeD (affiliation: Mythic Talent) and an anonymous person published in one of his videos, suggesting that ANYCOLOR had pressured FalseEyeD to remove his X (Twitter) post, which included a photo of him placing his sign in front of the NIJISANJI EN (New) Talent’s sign.(a photo of FalseEyeD sign in front of the NIJISANJI EN (New) talents sign).

I wanted to relay some dumb politics to you. Weebcon is asking if you could possibly remove the post about being in the wrong neighborhood with the Niji cast in the back. We don’t care about any of that but I guess they are threatening Weebcon hard with making sure they can’t book Japanese VA’s and stuff next year if it’s not taken down and stuff. It’s up to you in the end but they wanted to ask if that was possible and apologized for the annoying politics Niji
is bringing to the event with this.
They are working on cutting ties to niji so they won’t be involved in 2024. Again so sorry for being the middle man to give you this request.;-;
Weebcon said it’s all up to you, it could be a possible empty threat but that could hurt the convention a ton next year if it’s not. :/

FalseEyeD is a VTuber who also handles gossip information, and while we do not place total trust in the information he handles, he has announced in the past that he won a warning from ANYCOLOR to remove videos due to copyright infringement, and that he has continued to handle credible information regarding ANYCOLOR, NijiSanji, and NIJISANJI EN (New). In addition, he has continued to provide highly credible information about ANYCOLOR, NIJISANJI, and NIJISANJI EN (New) since then, so it is highly likely that this information has a certain degree of credibility.

If the information provided by ANYCOLOR was correct, ANYCOLOR would have exercised unwise pressure for the sole purpose of “publishing a photo of another celebrity’s billboard in front of the billboards of a celebrity affiliating to ANYCOLOR,” resulting in the convention breaking off the relationship with ANYCOLOR.

Now, he is publishing that photo again.
